Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard is yet another series by Rick Riordan! This author has been called the ”storyteller of the gods” by Publishers Weekly, as he has written more than forty books on various mythologies including Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and in this series, Norse mythology. This series is about a demigod (also called half-blood), a half-human half -god, Magnus Chase, the son of the Norse god of fertility, Frey. Interestingly, Magnus Chase is the cousin of Annabeth Chase, an important character in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which links the two series in a fascinating way for Percy Jackson fans. Magnus Chase is a homeless teenager who lives in Boston. One day, he is tragically killed by a monster, and goes into a modern Viking afterlife, where he completes various quests. These books have an incredible suspense, and I love the dialogues, especially the vocabulary used by Magnus, that is always very funny. Right now, only two books have been published, but a new one will come out in October 2017. I suggest these books to anyone who likes fantasy novels, and to anyone who likes other Rick Riordan novels, as they are all very alike.
