Boy: Tales of Childhood is an autobiographical book by Roald Dahl in which he tells the story of his own early days, from his birth in Wales to his years at boarding school in England. This book is divided in 4 parts: Starting-point, Landlaff Cathedral school, St Peter’s and Repton and Shell. I found this book quite fascinating as I lived one of my favourite author’s childhood through his own eyes. You discover how his childhood experiences led him to his writing as a career. It was both VERY interesting and VERY funny. It is very detailed and the way the author writes about himself is insightful and captivating. My favourite part of this book is ”The mouse plot”, in which he and his friends play a prank on the local sweet-shop owner… Through these stories, we have a peak into how the inspiration for some of his most famous books came to him.
