Matilda is a very interesting book about a little girl (Matilda), who was born in a family who did not understand the importance of reading books and going to school. Her father was a crook and her family’s main activity was watching television. Matilda, on the other hand, was a little genius who read and wrote perfectly before she was five years old. When she started school, she immediately loved it: she learned things the whole day, and her teacher, Miss Honey was the nicest teacher on earth, according to all her pupils. But only one thing, one person made school a nightmare for all the students attending Matilda’s school (the Crunchem Hall Primary School): Miss Trunchbull, the headmistress of the school. She was cruel. If a child was bad, she would enclose him/her in Chokey, a tiny torture space. Matilda then discovers she has magical powers that will not only help all the children in the school but her and Miss Honey as well… This book, like all of Roald Dahl’s is very entertaining and a must-read for all! I very recently went and saw the musical in New-York! It was very spectacular…
