Percy Jackson and the Olympians is the story of a young boy, Percy Jackson, who is a demigod (also called a half-blood), which means that he is half god and half human. In the world of this series, there are many children who are also demigods… To avoid being killed by monsters, all these half-bloods, who have been spotted by satyrs, are placed undercover in different schools across the world. Once they are spotted and identified as demigods, they must go to camp Half-Blood. This camp is dedicated to them, and ensures their appropriate training and safety. Percy Jackson, after being expelled from multiple schools, ends up at camp Half-Blood where he discovers he is Poseidon’s son. Between fighting monsters and defending Olympus from the evil titan king, Kronos, he barely has any time to spare. I was a little reluctant to read the Percy Jackson series at first, as I am not a fan of fantasy books. I finally read it because most of my friends were talking about it… I am glad I did as the story and the suspense is incredible. Furthermore, it made me rediscover, in a different angle, all the heroes of the Greek Mythology that I am familiar with… I read it on my recent trip to Greece and could hardly stop until I was finished all the books!
